YOUR CAR.
YOUR REPAIR.
YOUR RIGHT.
Under Oregon law, you have the absolute legal right to choose where your vehicle is repaired after an accident. Insurance companies are prohibited from mandating or steering you to their network shops. We advocate directly for you, not the insurer.
[ 01. The Oregon Law ]
Oregon has strong consumer protection laws designed specifically to stop insurance companies from dictating repair quality and shop selection.
“An insurer may not require that a particular person, shop, or facility make repairs to the motor vehicle of an insured or claimant as a condition of paying the claim under the policy.”
Your 5 Inalienable Collision Repair Rights
- 01You Choose The Shop: No insurance adjuster, call-center agent, or app can legally force you to use a specific body shop. You are 100% entitled to bring your car to Carbon Collision.
- 02Only ONE Estimate is Required: You are under no legal obligation to drive around town collecting multiple estimates. One detailed estimate from Carbon Collision is all that is legally required.
- 03Right to Factory OEM Standards: Insurance company “Direct Repair Programs” (DRP) often incentivize aftermarket imitation or scrap yard parts to cut their costs. Carbon Collision restores vehicles to manufacturer specifications with safety as priority #1.
- 04Direct Billing & Supplement Management: Once you drop your car off with us, we work directly with your insurer. We document teardown damage with computerized imaging, submit supplements, and collect payment directly from them.
- 05Independent Lifetime Warranty: Insurers sometimes claim they only guarantee work done at their preferred shops. The truth: insurance companies don't fix cars; body shops do. Carbon Collision independently guarantees all our structural and paint repairs for as long as you own your car.

[ 04. Claims FAQ ]
Common questions from drivers navigating insurance repairs in Portland and across Oregon.
Do you work with my insurance provider?
Yes! We work with ALL major insurance companies, including State Farm, GEICO, Progressive, Allstate, Farmers, USAA, AAA, Liberty Mutual, Travelers, Nationwide, American Family, and many more. We bill them directly.
What if hidden damage is discovered after teardown?
In collision repair, hidden damage behind bumpers and fenders is very common. When our technicians disassemble the vehicle, we photograph the damage, create an itemized insurance supplement with OEM repair procedures, and submit it directly to your adjuster for approval.
Do I have to pay a deductible?
If you are filing under your collision or comprehensive policy, your deductible is determined by your insurance contract and is paid directly to the repair shop when you pick up your completed vehicle. If you were not at fault and filing through the other driver's carrier, there is typically no deductible.
Can you assist with rental cars and towing?
Absolutely. If your vehicle is not driveable, we can arrange 24/7 towing to our facility at 10735 SE Foster Rd. We also coordinate seamless rental car drop-off and pickup through enterprise rental partners while your vehicle is in our shop.
